🌸What a weekend for our IBC boys as they battled through a competitive Mother’s Day Sandlot Baseball Tournament in Lamar, MO at 📍Lamar City Park!⚾️

The team went 2-1 on the day, finishing second in the tournament! This day was about more than baseball. Huge thank you to all of the moms that cheer like they birthed the entire lineup! None of this happens without you.💕

Game 1️⃣: IBC 4 | SW Tigers 13

🔥L. Segraves with a triple and 3 RBIs
⚡️P. Whitson collecting 2 hits and scoring twice
💥Strong hustle on the bases from P. Whitson, T. Haynes, M. Wilson, J. Logan, N. Lange, H. Lies who kept pressure on throughout the game

Even in a tough matchup, the boys continued competing, growth happens through games like these, and they went back to work and were ready for the next one. ⚾️💪

Game 2️⃣: IBC 13 | Carthage Miners 10

IBC secured a wild 13-10 win over Carthage Miners 10U after jumping out to an early lead and holding on through a late push from the Miners.

IBC came out swinging with 5 runs in the first and 4 more in the second to take control early. Carthage battled back late, but Indy answered with 4 huge insurance runs in the top of the 4th to secure the victory.

🔥N. Lange had a day at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and two runs scored
⚡️L. Segraves finished with a double, RBI, and two runs scored while creating havoc on the bases with 3 stolen bags
✌️M. Douthit added a double, RBI, and stole 2 bases
💥B. Irick delivered offensively with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs while swiping an impressive 5 bases
👏P. Whitson collected 2 hits and scored twice to spark the offense at the top of the lineup
🧡L. Gonzalez made the most of his opportunities, going 1-for-1, scoring a run, reaching via hit-by-pitch, and stealing 3 bases

Game 3️⃣: IBC 10 | 620 Warriors 6

Independence Baseball Club 10U takes down the 620 Warriors after exploding early with 4 runs in the 1st and 5 more in the 2nd to take control of the game.

This weekend’s tournament is dedicated to the real MVPs spending their day at the ball field instead of brunch. The moms who pack the snacks, wash the white pants, keep the dugout alive with sunscreen and Band-Aids, and somehow always know the answer to “Mom, where’s my cup?” all 47 times before 8 AM. 😂

Game 1️⃣: Independence 9 | Coffey County Mudcats 4

IBC earned a strong 9–4 win over the Mudcats using an explosive first inning and disciplined at-bats to control the game throughout.

Game 2️⃣: Independence 3 | E3 Freedom 11

IBC an into a tough E3 Freedom squad, falling 11–3. E3 jumped out fast with 4 runs in the first and 5 more in the second, putting IBC in an early hole they couldn’t climb out of. Errors proved costly, extending innings and allowing E3 to capitalize repeatedly, going on take the tourney Championship.🏆

💥H. Lies-Strong performance behind the plate and at bat, going 1-for-1 with a walk and 2 stolen bases
⚡️N. Lange–Scored a run and contributed on the mound in relief

Game 3️⃣: Independence 3 | Wood Ducks 5

Independence came out swinging in a tough battle versus the Wood Ducks. IBC set the tone early with a 3-run first inning, but the momentum shifted as the Wood Ducks responded and held on for a 5–3 heartbreaker.💔

🧡Independence Baseball Club takes the field tomorrow in Chanute at the Santa Fe Sports Complex for the April Thunder Tournament! It's going to be a great day of baseball! Let's go!🔥

Game 1️⃣: Independence 4 | SEK Shockers 3

Independence Baseball Club 10U edged out SEK Shockers 10U 4–3 in a tight, back-and-forth game. Indy jumped ahead early, scoring in each of the first three innings (2–1–1), then held off a late push. Strong pitching and aggressive base running made the difference down the stretch.

Fast start: Indy plated 2 runs in the 1st to set the tone
Clutch defense/pitching: Held Shockers scoreless over the final two innings
Limited damage: Only 1 hit allowed all game by Indy pitching

IBC ran into a hot🔥team and Indy's defense couldn't cool them off.💦 We'll tip our cap, reset, and come back better from lessons learned.

Game 3:
Independence Baseball Club-6 | E3 Freedom-7

IBC battled until the final out in a tough 7–6 loss. Down big early, The Club refused to quit and nearly pulled off a complete comeback.🧡

After falling behind early, Independence found themselves down 6–0 through three innings. But this group didn’t fold. In the 4th inning, IBC exploded for 5 runs, completely shifting the momentum and putting pressure back on their opponent. The response from this team showed serious heart.

🔥 Tyson Haynes-Came up clutch with 2 RBIs and was a force on the bases, swiping 3 stolen bases to keep pressure on the defense.
⚡Nolan Lange-Did it all—1 key hit, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, plus 2 stolen bases. Battled on the mound early and stayed locked in offensively.
💪Landon Segraves-3 hitless innings while also adding a hit and run scored at the plate.
🎯Malcolm Wilson-Made the most of his opportunity with a perfect 1-for-1 performance and an RBI.
🔥Declan Lyon-Came through with an RBI and helped spark the big inning comeback
⚾Hudson Lies-Added an RBI and stayed consistent putting the ball in play.
👏Luciano Gonzalez-Picked up a hit and contributed on the bases with a stolen base, helping generate offense.
🧱Marshall Douthit-Recorded a hit and scored a run while holding things down behind the plate.
⚡Bentley Irick-Crossed the plate during the rally and stayed aggressive throughout.
