We had a great turnout of both veterans and their families at all of the day's events. We sold most of these sharp looking shirts to many past members of the QM 1011th who were very excited to meet current members and reunite with old comrades.
If you were unable to attend & are interested in purchasing a tshirt message us, DO NOT comment with your personal information on this post. We sold out of 2XL and Smalls pretty quickly, but still have several Mediums, Larges and Extra Large which are available for sale.
These are $15 each (Adult M, L, XL only) and if you live in the Pittsburg area you can arrange to pick them up. If you are farther out add $5 for shipping. ALL the proceeds will be donated to the Veterans Freedom Square memorial project.

Just in case you missed the parade it seems that the city posted this for everyone to see. It's a little shaky but you'll see Re*****on ridding on the front of a fire truck. And I believe the freedom riders that also escorted our troops back into Independence last year. As well as the 200+ Vietnam Veterans that were receiving their long awaited welcome home before the medallion ceremony.

These two vintage WWII Stearman planes did a flyover downtown Indy to open the parade Saturday.
These planes are 2 of 7 Stearman World War II era training biplanes based at Lloyd Stearman Field, also known as Benton Airpark, which is a small public airport located near Benton, Kansas. It was named in honor of aviation pioneer Lloyd Stearman. The airfield actually has ties to Hollywood and was used for several scenes from the 1969 movie, "The Gypsy Moths".
