Today we celebrate Flag Day, a day that honors the American flag and what it represents: freedom, unity, sacrifice, and the enduring spirit of our nation.
The first official observance of Flag Day traces back to June 14, 1885, when a Wisconsin schoolteacher named Bernard J. Cigrand encouraged his students to recognize the anniversary of the adoption of the American flag. On June 14, 1777, the Second Continental Congress approved the design of the nation's first official flag.
For generations, the Stars and Stripes have flown over farms, homes, schools, and communities across America. Here on our farm, we are reminded daily of the values that built this country—hard work, perseverance, faith, and service to one another.
As we raise the flag today, we honor those who have defended our freedoms and those who continue to strengthen our nation through their dedication and sacrifice.

Dad has always been my rock. This last stroke has kicked the wind from our sails and challenged all of us. I would like to thank my friends and family for all the support this last week. Note to self don’t ask the universe for help with learning patience, like a monkeys paw the universe has a way of giving you what you ask for but not way you want.
