Fi***rm Registration Massachusetts now requires fi****ms possessed, manufactured or assembled in the Commonwealth to be registered through the electronic fi***rm registration system maintained by the Department of Criminal Justice Information Services.
Samuel Lacus: Massachusetts LTC holder. 11 felony fi***rm charges. All 11 later dismissed. One separate storage charge remained pending.
Danisha Harris: Arrested and charged with felony unlawful fi***rm possession while traveling through Massachusetts. Her case was dismissed after the court applied Chapter 135’s nonresident travel exception.
Dreson Robertson: Active duty Air Force member with a valid Massachusetts LTC. Charged with possessing two “unregistered” fi****ms before the registration requirement took effect. Dismissed before arraignment.
Three people. Three fi***rm cases. None of these cases involved allegations that they used their fi****ms to hurt someone.
Yet they STILL faced the trauma of being arrested, faced criminal charges, needed attorneys, and had to deal with the court system before major charges were dismissed.
This is why the details of Chapter 135 matter. This is why this is such a bad law.

Kerrie Ann Auclair Kerrie Ann Samson Auclair is the Massachusetts State Director for Women for Gun Rights, a fi****ms instructor, business owner, wife and mother of two. Her message in this video is simple: the Second Amendment is a civil right and lawful fi***rm owners are already doing the education, training and being involved.
Chapter 135 changed Massachusetts fi***rm law in a number of ways, including additional licensing and training requirements, fi***rm registration and serialization provisions, restrictions involving certain semiautomatic and assault style fi****ms, ERPO procedures and where fi****ms may legally be carried.
These additional requirements place greater burdens on people ALREADY following the law.
Chapter 135 does nothing to stop criminals from doing what they are already doing.

Yet another reason (of many, actuallly too many) to Vote NO ON 9 .... the MA Fi***rm Registry...a treasure trove of records for criminals to feast on and eventually a database for future legislation to outright ban make/model of a fi***rm in future legislation sessions. (e.g., see VA, NJ, IL, NY) ; no grandfathering...another act of compliance becomes self incrimination in the future. Any database eventually gets hacked, compromised, etc... even USA ATF ....

we are grass roots, small business owners, and overall fed-up citizens of MA, tired of the government over-reach and ignoring the voice of the citizens.
The opposing campaign reflects their endorsements where big money comes into legislators and organizers pockets. Not everyone in these unions and national non-profitss had a say either to endorse the incremental infringement on the 2A Civil Rights and ignore the voice of the voters (e.g., remember the audit..) . Someone else made a decision for all of them.
Ballot Question #9 is a one of many MA battles of the David's vs Goliath.... register to vote and send a message back to Beacon Hill. Vote NO ON 9.
