Peppermint: Energy and nausea
Citrus oils: Uplifting and calming
Lavender: Calming and resting
Clary Sage: Progress labor (Do not use before labor has begun unless directed by your care provider)
Frankincense: Relieve pain and calming

How did you choose where to have your baby?
Would or did you choose differently for your other births?

Just when you think you can't do it any more you're reminded that you're almost there. That your baby is that much closer to being in your arms. You're doing this for a short bit more but for a lasting joy. You can do this. In fact, you are doing this.

Having your older child or children at your birth is truly a personal decision. But looks at some pros and cons to this topic.

👉🏼Possible Pros:
⭐No need to transfer your children to another caretaker when in labor,
and if you are staying home for your birth, they can stay sleeping and be in their own environment once they are awake.
⭐Involving your children can help them feel connected and included in a family event and even bonding sooner with their new sibling.
⭐Encouraging them that birth is a normal and beautiful event and doesn't need to be feared.

👉🏼Possible Cons:
⭐Mama may get distracted during labor trying to play the mothering role when she's needing to focus on labor.
⭐Adding more people in the birth space may slow or stall labor.
⭐May be upsetting to some children seeing their mama hurting.

💚What are some other pros and cons to siblings attending births? What was your experience with having your older children at their sibling's birth?💚

Give assistance to; enable to function or act.

This Dad kept by Mama's side the entire time. He adjusted his support as labor progressed and followed her lead as to what she needed. Sometimes it's a word of encouragement to breathe through that particular contraction, hip squeezes or maybe a hand to hold tight.

What kind of support did you appreciate during labor? Was there something you thought you would want but then turned down during baby time?
