Last Thursday night, Laney Hawes told us something that stayed with us.
For years, she and a small group of others were sounding the alarm about an organized effort to ban books from schools and libraries — city by city. And for years, almost no one believed them. They were ridiculed, shamed, and dismissed.
They kept going anyway.
That kind of courage — to tell the truth when no one is listening, to resist pressure, to persist — is exactly what this conversation is about. And it's exactly the kind of community we want to be.
Grateful to Laney Hawes, Chris Tackett, and Randy Campbell for a night we won't forget.

This Sunday is something special at Pathways. 🌸
We're celebrating Flower Communion — a beloved UU tradition where everyone brings a flower, we bless them together, and each person takes home a different one. A simple, beautiful way of saying: we are each unique, and we are better together.
Joining us to preach is Rev. Addae Ama Kraba, whose sermon A Tapestry of Love and Action reminds us that love isn't just a feeling — it's what we do.
Sunday, May 24 | 10:30am
Bring a flower if you can — extras will be available for all. 🌻
