Building a tattoo like this is a process. This was session one on this hand piece, laying down the foundation with bold structure, contrast, and shading while designing the flow around the natural anatomy of the hand.

Hand tattoos come with their own challenges—the surface moves, bends, stretches, and changes over every knuckle and contour. Getting a larger design to read clearly means paying attention to placement, balance, saturation, and how the artwork moves with the hand, not just how it looks sitting flat.

There’s still more work to come, but I’m loving where this one is headed. 🔥

Some tattoos tell a story. This one carries names without ever needing to say them. ✈️

Created for a flight attendant honoring three friends whose lives were lost in aviation tragedies.

The two blue aircraft represent friends lost on September 11, 2001. The red aircraft honors another friend lost in a flight that November. Beside each plane is its flight number—a detail that may look simple to anyone else, but carries a lifetime of meaning for the person wearing it.

And beneath them, two words that say everything:

Always remember.

There are tattoos we create for beauty, tattoos we create for expression, and tattoos we create because some people deserve to be carried with us.

BLACK & GREY ISN’T ABOUT USING MORE BLACK. IT’S ABOUT CONTROLLING LIGHT. 💀🕰️🌹🍃

This custom, partially freehanded piece is a perfect example of why contrast matters so much in black & grey tattooing.

Anyone can make something darker. The challenge is knowing exactly where the darkest values belong — and just as importantly, where they DON’T.

Deep blacks anchor the composition. Mid-tones create dimension. Soft shading creates transitions. Untouched skin becomes light.

And sometimes, I manipulate that light even further with carefully placed WHITE. 🤍

Look closely at the bead of water, edges of the cracked bone, leaves and clock hands. Those tiny white highlights are intentional. Against deeper blacks and soft greys, they catch the eye and create another level of depth and separation.

That balance is especially important in larger pieces and sleeves. I don’t want an arm to look like several images competing for attention. I want your eye to know where to focus, where to travel and where to rest.

It’s also why I partially freehand some of my custom work directly on the body. It lets me adjust movement, shadows and transitions to YOUR anatomy instead of forcing a flat drawing onto a three-dimensional arm.

This is the work I want more of. 🖤

✨ THIS IS A GLITTER TATTOO — and yes, all of that sparkle is INK. ✨

Glitter tattooing is still a rare style, especially here in North Alabama, and I’m incredibly excited to be bringing more of it to the Huntsville/Madison area.

There’s no actual glitter involved. The effect is created through carefully placed dots, color shifts, highlights, contrast and negative space that trick your eye into seeing sparkle. ✨

And it is NOT an easy technique.

Too much color can flatten the effect. Highlights in the wrong places can make the illusion disappear. Every tiny mark matters.

I’ve spent time learning and developing this technique, and I’m genuinely proud of where my glitter work is going. I have so much respect for artists who master their specialties, and I’m excited that this is becoming one of mine. 🖤
