Oliver traded the studying and tests of University this week to go race his car at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. We made it to the track just in time for the last practice on Friday afternoon and Oliver was able to get back in the car after not driving it since the end of October.
Saturday’s qualifying was decent and the first race went well and he had a blast making some cool passes. The second race didn’t go so well and he got spun on the first lap and had to race hard from the back, made a few spots but the field was strung out which made it hard. We finished the day celebrating his championship win last season at the awards banquet.
Sunday there was no qualifying and they started the feature based on Saturdays finishing positions which left Oliver starting well back. Oliver had everything to do and he drove hard but ultimately the half axel in the back of the car broke and he had to retire. Not sure his official finish results and this was Oliver’s first race weekend running as an Inex Pro driver instead of Semi Pro. Not the weekend we’d hoped for on the track but that’s racing!!! We still had a blast!!!!
