Today's is Jim Lavalley of the Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal center. Lavalley is a contract specialist with 35 years of service in manual contract administration, coordination and documentation. He says he really values helping others do their jobs better in a difficult work environment, whether it's teaching them a better method in computer applications, designing a form to automate a slow process, tracking contract performance, focusing on the big picture, retaining a sense of humor and perspective, or standing up for what he thinks is right. He says, "people are important, so it just makes sense - from even a business sense - to motivate and support others. Any improvements we make, no matter how small, makes our work better and faster for the folks whose lives are on line for ours."
