⭐️ Community Spotlight ⭐️
Our residents recently had the privilege of meeting with the Alabama A&M University Honors Program! They shared valuable information about college opportunities, scholarships, campus involvement, and ways our residents can begin preparing for their future goals.
We are so thankful for community partners who invest their time into encouraging and empowering our youth to dream big and pursue higher education.

Children across Alabama continue to face significant levels of trauma and instability. Studies show that 26.3% of Alabama children have experienced two or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), including abuse, neglect, domestic violence, substance abuse in the home, and parental incarceration. It is also estimated that nearly 90% of children in foster care have experienced traumatic events.
At Harris Home for Children, we currently serve 24 youth in foster care and are committed to helping them heal, grow, and succeed. Through counseling services, mentorship, structure, and support, we work daily to address trauma, build confidence, and provide hope for a brighter future.
Every child deserves safety, stability, love, and the opportunity to heal. Together, we can make a difference.
At Harris Home for Children, we are dedicated to ensuring the safety, stability, growth, and success of the young men we serve. We are committed to building stronger futures, stronger families, and stronger communities.
We are builders!

It is with heavy hearts that we extend our deepest condolences to the family of Dr. Leon Frazier.
Dr. Frazier was a pillar in the Huntsville community, across the State of Alabama, and internationally through his lifelong commitment to human services. For decades, he faithfully provided counsel, wisdom, and leadership to Harris Home for Children, leaving an enduring impact on the organization and the countless lives it serves.
He will be sorely missed.
We are praying for comfort, peace, and strength for his family during this very difficult time.
