Uhuru Zenzele Consignment Family,
For almost six years now, Zenzele Consignment has served as an important economic, cultural, social and political hub for the Black community of Huntsville. As an economic project and headquarters of the All African People’s Development & Empowerment Project (AAPDEP), Zenzele has been more than just an African clothing store, but a place where the African community can connect to AAPDEP’s incredibly important programs in education, agriculture, health care and disaster preparedness.

The time has come for Zenzele to transition to our next phase, which is to close our brick and mortar and focus on our online store, www.zenzeleconsignment.com, and festival and pop-up vending.

Our last day of store operations will be Friday, May 20.

This is not the end of the story though! It is a necessary transition that will allow us to better support the self-reliance programs of our nonprofit, AAPDEP. It will allow us to pour more into our community gardens, African community-led healthcare programs and anti-colonial educational programs. It will also better position us to build Project Black Ankh, the African Nation’s own emergency preparedness and disaster response program.
