We haven’t been able to regularly post about our life happenings lately even though so much has been going on. Life has just been really hectic for us, and it’s been a while since we last shared updates here. But we’re here for a quick little post today, and hopefully we can start sharing some photo dumps soon from all the special moments we’ve missed posting about 🤍

For now, here’s a small highlight from today! Marco donated blood for the very first time! 🩸 We’re so proud of him for taking that step. It all went well, and we’re grateful for the experience and the chance to help others in a simple but meaningful way. Aside from the goodies, Marco also received a blood drop pin as a first-time blood donor, which made the moment even more special.

On March 27, we celebrated 11 years of being in a relationship.

Six years ago on January 10, 2019, I asked my beautiful wife to marry me at a lovely cafe in downtown Brno, Czech Republic. She would be my fiancé for two years before we married in August of 2021. Since that time, we have traveled to so many places, experienced many ups and downs, and had some amazing life accomplishments!

Love and passion is what brings us to life, and opens doors. For me, it blasted those doors wide open! Because of my wife, I found myself in a whole new country, and eventually living my dream teaching at our own karate dojo! That’s big for a guy who used to shy away from the world.

Grateful to my wife for pushing me to do things I might not have pushed myself to if I were on my own. Charish is an amazing woman, full of determination and purpose. When driven to a goal, she doesn’t take no for an answer.

On March 27, I celebrated making her mine!

We’re so proud of our son Marco!
He was chosen as one of the Erasmus scholars and had the amazing opportunity to travel and work in Barcelona for his first international experience last month (March 2025).

The program covered everything—flights, lodging, meals, and allowance—so he could focus on learning. Marco worked in a restaurant kitchen, gaining hands-on experience as part of his journey to becoming a chef.

It’s a big step and he handled it with so much passion and maturity. We’re excited to see where this path takes him next.

Great job, Marco! We love you and we’re so proud!

The year of the dragon has been an eventful year for us! As 2024 draws to a close, we naturally feel reflective on the year gone by. We traveled so much this year, from the Philippines, China, Hungary, France, to the USA to see the solar eclipse, and even Toronto Canada to name a few! Our last travel to Toronto was special because it was new for both of us.

The city was big and came to life with lights at night. Far too big to explore in one day, so we will have to visit again someday soon!

We hope all of you reading this made a lot of wonderful memories this year, and have a very Happy New Year ahead as we enter 2025!

🎉 Happy 17th Birthday to our soon-to-be adult! 🎂 Time flies so fast, and we couldn’t be prouder of the remarkable young adult you’re becoming. This year marks the start of exciting new adventures, and we know you’re ready for it all. Keep shining bright—we love you endlessly!

We were so lucky to have a table for three available as soon as we arrived, skipping at the always-popular usual long queue! 🎉

A huge thank you to New York Cafe for making our son’s birthday extra special! 🎂 The personalized cake was perfect, and the surprise piano performance added a magical touch. Your incredible service turned this day into a memory we’ll cherish forever! 💖🎶

Also, a big thank you to the staff at the for our first-ever stay on the water. It felt like we were cruising through our stay! We were warmly welcomed and had great conversations with the waiters during breakfast. This celebration truly gave our family the private and personalized experience we hoped for our future explorer Marco Polo…ohh I mean Marco Enrique! 😀 🚢💙

Finally having a family day out! Life has been busy, so we took some long overdue time to seize the day and spend it together! After starting the day teaching karate, we left to attend the annual Expo for foreigners living in Brno, where we finally meet fellow American, Karen, who our family has been following on Instagram for years! After a few hours there, we enjoyed some quiet time with just the three of us and ate dinner at the A-1 Buffet.

Please make plans to join us for our 1st Seminar in Brno, as well as our Kyu Grade Belt Testing WYKKO (RYU Dojo) with special guest from the Mokurai Dojo in France, Shihan Frederic Lecut (5th Degree Black Belt).

Seminar will be held on March 23rd. Come at 9am to prepare and ask questions. Seminar events start at 10am and will last until 4pm with an hour lunch break in between (12pm-1pm).

Seminar topics will focus on:

Japanese Style Fighting
Sword Demo
Self-Defense
Karate Philosophy
Traditional Karate Techniques, Bunkai, and more!
