HCS Magnet Programs

Huntsville City Schools and the United States Department of Justice are now seeking applications through October 12, 2026 from parents, guardians, and students to serve on the 2026-27 Desegregation Advisory Committee (DAC).

The HCS Magnet Programs application window will open on Tuesday, October 13 for next school year! This is for rising K-12 students seeking admission to a HCS Magnet Program for the 2027-2028 school year.

UPCOMING MAGNET EVENTS:
-K-12 STEM Showcase & STEM Magnet Pathway Information Fair at New Century Technology High School on Thursday, October 15 at 6 PM.

-K-12 Arts Magnet Festival & Information Fair at Lee High School on Saturday, October 24 at 10 AM.

At these outreach events, magnet applicants will be able to learn more about the K–12 STEM and creative & performing arts pathways, meet educators and students, and get answers to questions about the magnet application and admissions process.

Greetings FamiLEE,

I am extremely excited and proud to officially announce that Lee High School has been named a 2026 Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence (BRSE) Lighthouse School!

Following a comprehensive assessment process, the BRSE Awards Committee affirmed the recommendation of our Senior Assessor and recognized Lee High School for our exemplary performance and commitment to excellence.

During the Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence assessment, Lee High School demonstrated outstanding achievement across all nine performance areas of a high-performing school:

This recognition followed an extensive process that included stakeholder surveys, interviews, a review of school practices and evidence, and a comprehensive two-day onsite assessment.

I want to thank our faculty and staff for their hard work, dedication, professionalism, and commitment to our students. This designation is not simply about what the assessors saw during a two-day visit. It reflects the work that happens throughout our school every day. It represents our commitment to quality instruction, student success, meaningful relationships, continuous improvement, and creating a school culture where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

I hope everyone will join us as we take a moment to celebrate what we have accomplished together. This is a significant recognition for Lee High School, and we thank everyone who played a role in making it possible.

While we celebrate, we also know that our work continues. We will use the feedback from this process to keep growing, improving, and ensuring that quality instruction and exceptional educational experiences are provided for ALL students, every day.
