Thank you to the team at Brookdale Jones Farm for the warm welcome and for hosting “Conversations with Your Congressman.” I’m always grateful for the opportunity to spend time with residents, answer questions, and have meaningful conversations.

Hearing directly from the people I represent is one of the most important parts of my job. I take their perspectives with me to Washington, where they help guide the work I’m doing to strengthen and support North Alabama.

Proud to join Boeing and Drake State today to announce a major new Technical Apprenticeship Program in Huntsville. This is what workforce development should look like — real training and a clear pathway to a good-paying job. Drake State continues to lead in preparing our workforce, and Boeing is playing a critical role in our national defense. Together, they’re creating opportunities for our people while strengthening the industries that keep our country safe.

It was a great day in Morgan County, getting out in the community and seeing the people and businesses that keep North Alabama strong.

📍I started the morning in Danville at the Circle Ranch, a faith-based nonprofit serving foster children and families across our region.
📍From there, I went to Weaver Meat Processing, a family-owned business that processes over 4,000 deer each season, along with custom beef and hog processing.
📍Next, I visited Lektron in Hartselle, a supplier for the Army’s Patriot Missile system. They’re a strong reminder that North Alabama continues to lead the way in supporting those who protect our country.
📍I also toured Pro-Fab Machine in Hartselle to check out a $16 million expansion that is underway. Pro-Fab specializes in precision CNC machining and manufacturing components that support major industrial partners in the region.
📍I wrapped up the day in Decatur at Ardent Mills, North America’s leading flour supplier. They are helping feed families across the country and producing ingredients used in many of the foods Americans consume every day.

Millions of fans from around the world are gathering across the United States for the FIFA World Cup. As a member of the Homeland Security Committee’s Task Force on Enhancing Security for Special Events, I’ve worked alongside federal, state, local, and private-sector partners in the lead-up to this major event. From advancing counter-drone efforts to strengthening coordination across all levels of government, our focus is simple: to keep fans safe, venues secure, and events successful. Let’s go, Team USA! 🇺🇸⚽️

Trump locks in ICE funding through end of presidency after House passes $70B package 06/09/2026

Today, House Republicans passed the Secure America Act, which funds America’s border security and immigration enforcement through President Trump’s term.

Democrats spent months attempting to block the resources needed to fully implement President Trump’s successful border security agenda and force concessions that would weaken immigration enforcement.

This legislation rejects those efforts and ensures the President’s agenda can move forward without future Democrat obstruction, delivering the personnel, technology, detention capacity, and operational support needed to accelerate removals, target criminal illegal aliens, strengthen border security, and build on the progress already achieved under President Trump’s leadership.

From the skies to the streets, feds are bracing for World Cup threats across 11 U.S. cities 06/09/2026

As our nation prepares to host the FIFA World Cup and other major international events, we must stay ahead of emerging security threats. Redstone Arsenal is home to the FBI’s premier training center for countering hostile drone activity, and I’m proud North Alabama is leading critical missions to safeguard the homeland.

From the skies to the streets, feds are bracing for World Cup threats across 11 U.S. cities Rogue drones, lone wolf actors and human trafficking rings top the list of concerns of public safety officials overseeing the multilayered security apparatus for the upcoming FIFA World Cup matches in the United States.

While I’m back in D.C. this week, I've sent my local team to areas of North Alabama impacted by severe flooding. My office has been in contact with county emergency management, and I will continue to monitor conditions as the situation develops. With more rain in the forecast this week, I encourage folks to stay informed, plan alternate routes, and have a plan in place if flash flooding arises. As always, we are fortunate to have the folks at NWS Huntsville keeping us informed.

Eighty-two years ago today, American troops and Allied forces landed on the beaches of Normandy and helped turn the tide of World War II. On this D-Day anniversary, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve of the American service members and Allied forces whose bravery helped secure the cause of freedom and changed the course of history.

As we remember those who gave their lives and those who returned home, we reaffirm our commitment to preserving the values they fought to defend.
