Meet Lucky Girl! 🍀

Lucky Girl is looking for a family to foster-to-adopt her!

At just one year old, this adorable poodle mix is ready to leave her past behind and find a family of her own. She came to rescue after a breeder (thankfully) made the decision to stop breeding because they no longer had the time to care for their dogs. Now it's her turn to discover what being a cherished family member is all about!

She is a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves people and is always excited to make new friends. She's great with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to play with.

Like many young poodles, she has plenty of energy and will thrive with an active family that can provide regular exercise, playtime, and training. She's eager to learn and will make a wonderful partner for adventures.

This happy, loving girl is ready for a fresh start with a family that will give her the love, patience, and stability she deserves. In return, she'll reward you with endless affection, companionship, and lots of joyful energy.

If you think she could be your match, please apply at www.rocketcityrescue.org

💔 Tonight, 4 dogs need YOU. 🐾

Please join us for a very special event tonight for four very special dogs who just want a home to call their own.

📍 Petsense, 2290 Zeirdt Rd

🕓 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM

Our goal tonight is simple but urgent: get these babies OUT of the boarding facility — through adoption or foster — and pray they never have to go back. 🙏

😢 Harley & Hudson have been in boarding for 14 months. That’s 14 months of falling asleep on a cold concrete floor instead of a warm, cozy bed. They deserve so much better, and they’ve waited long enough.

🐶 Katie & Marni have been in boarding for 7 months — and even that is 7 months too long.

Even if you can’t adopt tonight, come by anyway! 💕 Take one out of their crate, walk them around, let them feel your attention. They appreciate it more than you could ever know.

Can’t adopt? Foster! 🏡 Fostering gets them out of boarding and into a real home while they wait for their furever family.

✅ Adoption fees WAIVED

✅ Free Fi collar + 6 months of service

✅ Dog is neutered/spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative & on preventative

All you have to bring is love. 🐾❤️

👉 Start your application now: www.rocketcityrescue.org

Come meet Harley, Hudson, Katie & Marni tonight. Let’s get all four out of boarding and into homes where they belong. 🏠💛

💛 From ICU to “I Love You” — Cedar’s Story

If you saw our post last weekend, you know Cedar was in the ICU, fighting for his life. The diagnosis? Hookworms — a highly preventable parasite that a simple monthly tablet could have stopped.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, Cedar got the care he needed, and he pulled through. Today, he’s happy, healthy, and ready to find the family he deserves. Thank you to everyone who donated. You saved his life.

Now let’s talk about this goofball, because Cedar loves hard. He wants to be wherever the action is — right next to you, practically on top of you. Personal space? Never heard of it. He still carries around the toy he came home from the hospital with, and honestly, it’s the sweetest thing.

A little about Cedar:

🐾 11 months old, 35 lbs

🐾 Crate trained & house trained

🐾 Up to date on vaccinations

🐾 Neutered, microchipped, and heartworm negative

As a bonus, Cedar’s adoption comes with a coupon for a free Fi collar and six months of service — because we never want this boy picked up as a stray again.

If you’d like to meet Cedar, please fill out an application at www.rocketcityrescue.org, and one of our adoption counselors will be in touch.

Thank you again for loving this boy back to health. Let’s find him his forever home. 🧡

Meet Paul. He needs a new home in days — and it’s not his fault.

You’ve seen those adorable photos: a big gentle dog curled up next to a sleeping newborn. Paul won’t get one of those photos. Not because he did anything wrong — but because his family decided, before their baby was even born, that they weren’t “comfortable” keeping him.

Paul was adopted as a 4½-month-old puppy two and a half years ago. Classic story: young guy gets his first dog, then life moves fast — marriage, a baby. And now they want him gone.

Here’s what you should know about Paul:

• Great Pyrenees / Australian Cattle Dog mix, 62 lbs

• Outgoing, cheerful, and loves the outdoors — playing fetch is his favorite thing

• Knows sit, down, and shake

• Fiercely loyal once he bonds with you (huge Pyrenees trait)

• Loves to snuggle into any pile of pillows he can find

• Would thrive with a big, fenced yard to run in

• Neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm negative

Before anyone assumes the worst: we’d never place a dog we thought was a danger to a child. Paul isn’t. Thousands of families raise kids and dogs together every day, and they do plan to keep the second dog he adopted from us. This isn’t about Paul’s behavior.

Paul deserves better than a countdown clock. Help us give him a real home. If you can’t adopt him, maybe you would be willing to foster him until he finds his furever.

If you’re interested in meeting Paul, head to www.rocketcityrescue.org and fill out an adoption application. One of our counselors will reach out to set up a meet-and-greet.

Meet Thor!

Thor is a two-year-old cream-colored terrier mix with the perfect combination of playful energy and a sweet, affectionate personality. He's the kind of dog who is always ready for an adventure, but he's just as happy curling up beside you when the day is done.

Thor absolutely loves other dogs and gets excited whenever he has a new canine friend to play with. He's gentle by nature, although his enthusiasm can make him a little bouncy during playtime. He would thrive with an active family or another playful dog who can match his energy.

Around the house, Thor is a well-mannered gentleman. He's fully house trained, crate trained, and even lets you know when he needs to go outside. His crate is his favorite cozy retreat, and every night he happily settles in while watching Dog TV on YouTube before drifting off to sleep. He enjoys walks and is doing a great job learning loose-leash manners.

Thor also has an adorable quirky side—he loves lounging on the back of the couch like a cat so he can keep an eye on everything happening around him! And if you offer belly rubs, he'll happily roll over and soak up every second of the attention.

When it comes to treats, Thor isn't picky, but he definitely has favorites. He loves diced sweet potatoes, plain baked chicken, peanut butter cookies from Three Dog Bakery, and apple & yogurt treats from Blue Buffalo.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, keep you active, and fill your home with love, Thor is ready to become your new best friend. Could your family be the forever home he's been waiting for?

Apply today at www.rocketcityrescue.org

Meet Gracie! 🐾

Gracie is an almost 7 year old English Pointer with the sweetest personality. She is a laid-back girl who loves a good nap, being close to her people, and enjoying the simple things in life.

She is crate trained, potty trained, rides great in the car, and does fantastic at the vet. She is also good with kids and cats!

Gracie is very food motivated (which makes her easy to convince when treats are involved 😉). She does have a little pointer “talent” for finding snacks — if you leave something tasty sitting on the counter, don’t be surprised if she decides it was actually left there for her.

She can be a little stubborn at times, but it’s part of her charm. She has the sweetest hound-like bark and loves being around her people. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who will happily keep you company (and remind you not to leave food unattended), Gracie might be your perfect match!

If you are not able to adopt- please share her post- each share brings her one step closer to her forever home.

7/26/26 am Update: Cedar is Huntsville Veterinary Specialists & Emergencyessening but still no interest in food! Praying this boy starts eating today!
Thankful for his awesome veterinary team at Huntsville Veterinary Specialists & Emergency

Please pray for Cedar 🐾💔

Last February, a little two-month-old puppy named Cedar found his forever home — or so we thought. He was all wobbly legs and puppy breath, the kind of baby who makes your whole day better just by existing.

This week, our hearts broke. We got a call from Limestone Animal Care and Control— Cedar had been picked up as a stray, scared and alone. His adopter isn’t responding to us. Not one word.

We drove out Tuesday morning to bring him home to us, where he belongs. He was pretty beat up, and looked like he’d been running for who knows how long. Our sweet boy had been through something no puppy should ever have to face alone.

We thought the worst was behind him. It wasn’t. By Wednesday, he was vomiting and couldn’t keep anything down. By Friday, we were rushing him to the ER, where a team of vets is now working around the clock to figure out what’s wrong inside his little body. Nobody knows what he could have gotten into while he was just trying to survive.

They believe he’ll need to stay through the weekend, maybe longer. The bill so far is estimated at $3,500 — money we don’t have, but a life we refuse to give up on.

Cedar didn’t ask for any of this. He’s just a baby who deserved better, and right now, he needs every one of us in his corner.

Every single dollar — $5, $10, whatever you can spare — brings him closer to healing.

We pour our hearts into finding our furbabies the best possible homes, and every adopter signs a contract promising basic care: medical treatment, updated vaccines, and reaching out to us if they ever need help rehoming. Most days, that’s all we ask. Please, if you can’t commit to those basics, don’t adopt. These babies deserve so much more than being left to fend for themselves.

Cedar is fighting. Please help us fight for him. 🐶💙

FOR THOSE WHO DON’T GET IT, LET’S BREAK THIS DOWN!

We have 89 animals in our program right now who need food, p*e pads, blankets, and towels every single day. Pausing intake does not mean the work stops — it means we’re finally trying to catch up on caring for the animals we already have. Not everyone is on the website yet because some are still waiting on medical care, spay/neuter surgeries, or a safe foster placement. That’s not us hiding anything. That’s rescue.

We continue to have adoptions events every single weekend and do meet and greets during the week!

Rescue is fluid. One animal goes out, another comes in. Just because a face is “new” to our page doesn’t mean that animal wasn’t already in a foster home before intake ever paused.

And about the blurred photos — those puppies were in active danger by mean people. Posting clear pictures would have only made them easier to find and easier to hurt. Since intake was closed we begged for emergency fosters so we could get them out before it was too late (and a huge thank you to the people that stepped up). Instead, some of you made a spectacle out of blurred photos, which drew far more attention to the situation than we ever wanted. We got lucky that the wrong people didn’t take notice. The second we had enough fosters lined up, we pulled the post — for their safety, not for drama.

We wish rescue could pause. We wish we could just stop and catch our breath. But animals don’t stop needing help just because people are tired of hearing about it. So no — it doesn’t stop. We don’t get that option. And our emails and DM’s never stop either.

Will this post be shared and stop the drama? Doubtful😡
