In spite of it's size, From Stage to Screen is proud of the "family feel" its created for its students and staff. Last summer we decided to enter our Film Intensive Movies into Festivals.
We just heard back from our first submission and are happy to say our film -
“The Scholarship”
has been selected and nominated by the New York Lift - Off Film Festival in the category of
Best “Short Narrative Film “
The festival runs live on Vimeo from June 26 - July 29
Details to follow as to when our film will premiere.

Leading off for our Summer Intensive and back by popular demand, STS alum and royalty, the one and only Johnny Awesome -
John Cavaseno is a 2015 STS alumni. He’s performed regionally at theaters across the country and recently assistant directed Oklahoma! and 9 to 5 at Cortland Repertory Theatre. He’s currently choreographing Newsies at The Westchester Sandbox Theatre and will return to performing in the winter with Charlie and The Chocolate Factory at Slow Burn Theatre Co. Proud graduate of SUNY Cortland!
John has taught multiple classes and workshops at STS and really enjoys passing on the STS legacy to a new generation
He’s always happy to return to where his love for theatre developed and hopes to share that joy with the current students. John will be starting our intensive with a combo from Newsies!!

STS welcomes home Madison Morris to be part of our fantastic summer intense staff as our show choreographer!!
Madison is a rising junior at Sacred Heart University, where she is pursuing a double major in Criminal Justice and Law. Madison has remained deeply involved in the performing arts at SHU as a member of both the Dance Company and Inception Dance Crew since her freshman year, where she has performed and choreographed in numerous routines in a variety of styles.
Some of her recent performance credits include Nice Work If You Can Get It, A Chorus Line, and Stitches at Sacred Heart University. Additional favorite credits include The Wolves ( #14), Pippin (Leading Player), and Chicago (Velma Kelly). Additionally, Madison has also worked professionally as the Dance Captain in From Stage to Screen’s production of Rent directed by Adam Pascal.
Having grown up at Stage to Screen, Madison is proud to call STS a place that has profoundly shaped her as both a performer and a person. It is where she discovered her passion for the arts, formed lifelong friendships, and found incredible mentors and role models. She is beyond grateful for the opportunity to return this summer and is excited to share her love of dance with the next generation of performers. Madison would like to thank Gene for welcoming her back and making STS feel like home year after year!
