On February 3, Governor Kathy Hochul announced $4 million in new funding to expand clean energy workforce development programs across New York State, a move that directly supports Long Island’s growing green economy. Approved by the New York Power Authority (NYPA), the investment will fund seven workforce initiatives and provide clean energy training and job placement opportunities for more than 750 New Yorkers.

The programs focus on high-demand fields like energy-efficient construction, green building practices, clean transportation, advanced welding, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, skills that are increasingly critical as Long Island accelerates sustainability goals and climate-forward development. Many initiatives prioritize access for underrepresented and disadvantaged communities, helping ensure a diverse, local workforce is prepared for the region’s clean energy transition.

This funding is part of NYPA’s broader commitment to invest up to $25 million annually in clean energy workforce training, strengthening the talent pipeline needed to build resilient infrastructure, reduce emissions, and support long-term economic growth across Long Island and the state.

A Night to Remember at the 17th Annual Building Green Gala!

Last night at the Crescent Club in Bayville, we celebrated sustainability, innovation, and the incredible Long Island community working to build a greener future. The 17th Annual Building Green Gala brought together local leaders, builders, educators, and advocates to honor progress in sustainable development—and to inspire what comes next.

From meaningful conversations and delicious local fare to stunning waterfront views and powerful moments of recognition, the evening was a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for the planet.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and to all who continue pushing forward with purpose. Let’s keep building a brighter, more resilient Long Island together.
