Coalfield Development was founded in 2009 in southern West Virginia by West Virginians who believed that meaningful change must come from within. Today, Coalfield Development and the WV Community Development Hub co-presented at the State Capital on the importance of tangible economic and workforce development through our ACT Now Coalition with support from lobbyist Tommy Bailey. And while our collective impacts speak for themselves, we are honored to be spokespersons for our communities and workers as we deepen our collaborations with our state partners!
Appalachians have grown a healthy distrust and skepticism due to a century of broken promises. Today, our people get to shape a National Promise to Work in partnership with the National Skills Coalition, and it all starts with listening to the voices on the ground and understanding the needs and opportunities our communities have!
