Huntington is a city in the U.S. state of West Virginia. A major U.S. river port, the city is located in Cabell and Wayne counties at the confluence of the Guyandotte River & the Ohio River. The first permanent settlement, Holderby's Landing, was founded in 1775 in what was then the Colony of Virginia. The City of Huntington was founded as the western terminus of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway in 1871.
