🩸 Biomarker testing continues to shape the future of immuno-oncology.

New findings evaluating tissue-based and blood-based TMB testing raise important questions about:
• Predicting immunotherapy benefit
• Selecting the right patients for treatment
• The evolving role of liquid biopsy technologies

An important discussion as precision oncology continues to advance.

New data support expanding the conversation around treatment options for early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

In the largest, multinational patient-level analysis to date, external-beam radiation therapy (EBRT) achieved survival outcomes comparable to surgical resection, thermal ablation, and other ablative therapies.

Findings like these may help inform multidisciplinary treatment planning and broaden consideration for EBRT in appropriate patients.

New findings from the phase III ASCENT-04 trial may help redefine first-line treatment for PD-L1–positive metastatic triple-negative breast cancer.

Sacituzumab govitecan plus pembrolizumab significantly improved progression-free survival 2 (PFS2) compared with chemotherapy plus pembrolizumab, providing further evidence for the potential of antibody-drug conjugate and immunotherapy combinations.

A major step forward for precision medicine in early breast cancer.

New phase III data show that test-guided chemotherapy decision-making was noninferior to standard approaches, supporting the use of genomic testing to help identify which patients may safely avoid chemotherapy without compromising outcomes.

Advances like these continue to move oncology toward more personalized treatment strategies.

As generative AI becomes more accessible, patients and caregivers are increasingly turning to these tools for cancer-related information.

In this discussion, Rashad Ismayilov, MD, of Baskent University, and Ravi Parikh, MD, MPP, FACP, of Emory University and the Editor-in-Chief of ASCO AI in Oncology, review findings on how patients and caregivers are using generative AI tools, offering valuable insights into adoption patterns, trust, and experiences of patients with cancer and caregivers seeking cancer information.

Understanding how patients engage with AI may be just as important as clinicians understanding the technology.

Cancer screening innovation continues to evolve, and so does our understanding of its impact.

Results from the first randomized trial of the Galleri multicancer early detection (MCED) test showed a reduction in stage IV cancer diagnoses, although the study did not meet its primary endpoint.

Key takeaway:
➡️ Fewer late-stage cancer diagnoses
➡️ Important new evidence for MCED screening
➡️ Continued questions about implementation and clinical utility

Large cancer databases like Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) play a critical role in shaping oncology research, policy, and clinical understanding.

New findings suggesting potential missing patient information underscore the importance of data accuracy and completeness in real-world evidence generation.

An important conversation for researchers, clinicians, and healthcare leaders.
