This pair of beasties was once part of an RJ Horner table or desk. However at some point they were separated and someone decided to use them in their amateur haunted house/funhouse. They were painted gold, wings clipped and holes drilled in their eyes to run lights. One even got a pentagram on its shield. Needless to say their time to be part of a fine antique table has passed but they’re still very neat. I gave them a better paint job and now they can flank whatever in your home needs flanking. The hole in the tops (which were for dowels to attach them to the piece of furniture) are still there and I think would make great holders for battery operated tea lights or tall candles

While authentic, real stuff is always nice sometimes a really good replica is just as desirable. With those you don’t have to worry about legality or if it’s allowed on a certain platform and they tend to be fairly affordable. This extremely well done guy right here is a prime example. It’s a ceramic replica of a bear skull and is totally legal and not hundreds of dollars; just one hundo and a quarter

Sometimes you just want to have a little fun and indulge in a little whimsy! The whole fake, aged mirror has been a favorite move of mine for a while but this time I thought “what if I make it…. Wiggly?”
In order to do so I got a piece of plexiglass way thinner than I usually would for other projects figuring it would bend and not lay flat. My fingers were crossed that what would usually be a bug would translate to a distorted reflection ala the beloved carnival attraction: The Fun House. And it worked beautifully!
In order to get the mirror effect I first sprayed some spots with water and then immediately sprayed with a mirror effect spray. The water will create neat, misty patterns when it mixes with the paint and those will be left on the plexiglass when the water evaporates. Depending how messed up you want the mirror to look use more or less spray. More = a more intact mirror look. After the water dries finish it by spraying the entire back with a black paint. That will make all of the patterns pop out and be visible.
Once it looks how you want attach it to the back. One of the good things about plexiglass is you can drill it without it shattering. I chose the tiniest screws I could find in a dark metallic color so they blend in and not be noticed. Also their tiny holes would be easily filled, and again, not noticeable if the plexiglass were to be removed in the future. So not only is this a fun twist but an easily reversible one, which is important when dealing with furniture that is going to last longer then you will ☺️

If you enjoy peeking into the mind of a past reader this book has got you covered. Not only did the most recent owner write a letter to the original one but he annotated the 🦆 out of the first 50 pages or so. In my opinion that makes things more interesting, a two for one if you will, but I know the book collecting community probably does not agree. If you do though this tiny tome is ✅ in my Etsy

Did you know in some cultures black cats are actually lucky? Which is good because if you bought what this label is selling you’d need it! The label has been mounted on acid free backing and sealed up in a vintage frame

I love a good owl. Especially when they’re vintage and hand carved in alabaster. It makes them stand out amongst all the dark and broody things 🤍
