This morning, as people slept, police, military, and civilians raided homes in Altagracia in the Dominican Republic, detaining Haitians and sending hundreds to detention centers. This continues after last week’s devastating events, where homes were destroyed, and several Haitians were killed following a conflict involving a Haitian man and a local business owner.

Maui help
If you would like to help those affected by wildfires, one option is to donate to Hawaii Community Foundation's Maui Strong Fund. The Maui Strong Fund was created to provide community resilience with resources for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. The fund is currently being used to support communities affected by the wildfires on Maui. Other organizations accepting donations include the Red Cross and the Maui Food Bank. The State's Attorney General also issued a warning today for residents to beware of scams asking for donations for wildfire
