Angels & Sparrows
Angels & Sparrows serves a nourishing lunch Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to anyone who is hungry.
Angels & Sparrows empowers families to reach their potential by providing access to food security and educational opportunities that break the cycle of poverty and lead to a fresh start.

Uncertain times call for a compassionate community. At Angels & Sparrows, we offer meals, groceries, and a Pathway to income stability for families impacted by rising costs and benefit interruptions.
As our Full Plate fundraiser comes to a close this week, your gift today will help ensure no neighbor faces hunger alone - and that families have a steady place to turn while larger systems are in flux.

On behalf of everyone at Angels & Sparrows, thank you to those who’ve reached out asking how they can help. 💛
Every weekday, we serve up to 175 hot, nutritious meals to anyone who is hungry — no questions asked. But like food pantries and soup kitchens across the region, we’re seeing more neighbors in need, and we expect that number to grow.
The best way to help is simple: donate. Every gift matters. Your generosity gives us the flexibility to purchase exactly what’s needed — sometimes it’s plastic gloves, other times it’s chicken broth or fresh produce. And because we can often buy in bulk, your dollar stretches even further to feed more people.
With your support, we’re ready to meet the need. Together, we can keep plates — and hearts — full.

Each week, we’ve been sharing stories of how the programs we offer at Angels & Sparrows make an impact on our friends and neighbors in northern Mecklenburg County. Today, you’ll hear from Johana, a recent Pathway Graduate who just began her journey at Wake Forest University this fall. Johana’s incredible story represents the heart of our mission - her determination, and the dedication of all our students, have led to Pathway seniors to achieve a 100% high school graduation rate 🎓 https://ow.ly/hxit50XhVVx
We’re so proud of Johana for following her dreams, and we’re grateful for the support from our community that makes these successes possible. With one week left in our Full Plate fundraiser, we hope you’ll consider contributing so we can continue serving families and empowering students to turn their dreams into reality: https://ow.ly/FVy050XhVVA

Last week, we hosted our 5th Annual 'Putts Fore a Path Forward' golf tournament and we're happy to report that it was our best year yet! Not only did we sell out for the first time, but thanks to the generosity of this community, we more than doubled the amount raised to support our Pathway Program!
This list of thank you's is long - but we want to give a special shout out to our Golf Tournament sub-committee, the Khurana family, and all of our amazing sponsors including: Novant Health, The Serve Pickleball + Kitchen, Neil's Compounding Pharmacy, Parks Chevrolet Huntersville, Huntersville Presbyterian Church, Chad Lubben at The Lubben Group, Parallel Suntech, and Denver Equipment Co. of Charlotte.

This week, we received a donation from five-year-old Elizabeth, who wondered aloud about a challenge in her community and then set out to help solve it. Sometimes meaningful change can come from a simple question.

In Mecklenburg County, only 46% of 3rd graders are on grade level in reading. When reading slips, everything slips. Our Literacy Leads meet kids right at that turning point and help them catch up—and keep going. 📚✨

This dynamic duo of dedicated Community Table volunteers - working alongside their neighbors in Bailey’s Glen - are doing their part to keep everyone’s plate full this fall! After hosting a neighborhood BBQ + Pie Sale over Labor Day weekend, Gigi and Lynne donated the extra food AND proceeds from the pie sale to Angels & Sparrows. We are filled with gratitude watching communities come together to champion our mission!
