In a world that can be short on kindness, it may seem like a a nice thing to leave a gap in traffic to allow another car to enter the road or travel across your lane. Especially if you’re going to be stopped regardless. I assure you that it’s NOT a kindness. It’s one of the most dangerous and risky choices you can make for yourself or other drivers. Please don’t do it. We average more than 1.5 traffic deaths in Maryland per day and front end to side impacts are a big part of that statistic.

I still hear a lot of concerns about mail service in our area so, as a reminder - don’t forget to sign up for paperless billing in the App or Website. Not all policy types are available for email delivery yet but if you opt in those policies will automatically be emailed once they migrate to e-delivery.

I want to note some general insurance term definitions that cause confusion to the public. I’ll make this an ongoing practice and title the posts “Insurance 101” so that we can refer back to them in the future.

If you’re someone who directs other drivers against traffic rules or through traffic because you feel you are being kind please STOP. You are creating danger and confusing less experienced drivers which adds to accidents and injury.

Patience is going to be key with the storm damage many of us experienced last night. Ways to file a claim:

Take measures to secure your property that are reasonable and necessary and document those steps for easier resolutions.

Lastly, be wary of recommendations for service providers that don’t come from people you know who have used those services. It’s your right to pick your providers.
