Only once has she flown out when I approached. And yes it was startling 😆

My girls usually call for me when I’m outside but today I found them all relaxing in their coop.

The beauty of gardening and growing your own food is learning new things along the way. 🧄

Last year I noticed these bulbs growing from my garlic plants and found out they are garlic scapes! These are edible flower stalks that should be harvested so the energy of the plant can continue to focus on the garlic bulb underground.

I use this part of the plant and sauté it with different vegetables. Also a great addition for homemade dressings!
