Now that Christmas has taken place, I can finally share one of the projects I’ve been working on. Almost two years ago I cut down a dying maple that was right behind the house. We were all sad to see it go, especially my oldest daughter . She loved that tree. Climbed it all the time. So I had the bottom 11’ milled and kiln dried by . I planned all along to make Kayla a coffee table for her house. This is how it came out. She loved it ❤️❤️

Made an 81” console table fully from materials I salvaged from my clients family property. All the lumber was milled years ago by a family member. While salvaging the wood, I pulled open one of the drawers in the built in workbench. I saw that it was made from an old wine crate. Client had mentioned that the shop was built by his uncle and father. I asked if I could take the drawer without telling him why. I used pieces of the drawer as end skirting for the table. Figured it would be a nice surprise. Console table with some unique details
