The many ways crews disguised the longer barrels are really interesting. There's a photo of another firefly with a fairly convincing dummy 75mm added to the back of the turret
Operation Viking Pt.2: With both the German Destroyers and He-111 unaware they are firing on each other the bomber crew engage one of them. With two successful passes the Leberecht Maas is critically damaged followed shortly to the bottom of the sea by the Max Schultz which struck a mine. Due to the confusion all of the crew of the Max Schultz would be lost to the sea with only a small number recovered from the Maas. Nearly 600 sailors would lose their lives in this disaster
Did you know France used a Tiger tank against the Germans during WW2? Originally captured by the British the Tiger, originally designated 114, was put back into service with the French with it being renamed to Bretagne. The tank survives today in France and is currently under restoration.

Operation Viking Pt.1: As a group of 6 German Destroyers move through the westwall minefield they are greeted with the sound of a plane passing overhead. A brief fire exchange between the two would then lead to a battle, but unfortunately for the Germans this was not an enemy aircraft. With neither party realizing the other were also German this would result in one of the most costly friendly fire incidents of the war
High above the ships we see German seaplanes "engaging" a U-Boat and cruiser. Obviously this is staged for the film, but it still gives a glimpse into the reality of naval combat prior to and during WW2. The first strike on the U-Boat shows bombs being dropped followed by a torpedo attack against the cruiser. AA fire is also shown by the crew of the ship, likely a similar training exercise edited together to create the illusion of a battle
Although it was unlikely to ever be the best MBT in the world the Challenger family of MBTs biggest flaw is the country operating them. With so few in service and seemingly no change to that coming in the future there are simply too few of these tanks left to truly make an impact even when they are finally getting necessary upgrades to become Challenger 3
The seaplane is launched from the ship following the air alert call, but it isn't up there to engage them. Rather it gracefully circles the vessel releasing a smoke screen surrounding it to help conceal it from the incoming aerial attackers.
Check my previous reel to see the crew rushing to their battle stations onboard this German Cruiser
In this portion of a German film we see an air attack drill as part of an exercise. As the crew scramble to their battle stations the sea plane is launched in order to lay down a smoke screen to conceal the vessel.
I'll be posting that part tomorrow so be sure to follow so you won't miss it
When you think of overrated tanks the Panzer IV probably isn't what comes to mind. I would argue it's a perfect example of one, though, as many nowadays view it as the better option for Germany over later types. This ignores the very real limitations the aging tank suffered from and the fact that if the war had continued for another year or more the 75mm would quickly begin to be insufficient against the new tanks from the allies.
