From decorating to marching and being Proud of how we all celebrated Today’s Flag Day. As Veterans Services of Columbia County, we are very Proud of the Caring & Patriotic Group that we are, and we all work together. How special it was knowing three of the Dwyer program people, including our director, Rachel Hamilton, Kevin Ivy, and Bill Fisher, were Grand Marshalls. We had Veterans, Widows of Veterans, and volunteers all taking part today because they are so proud of our flag and being able to celebrate the 250th year of the United States of America.

Bill is one of ours at The Dwyer Program
🎉🇺🇸🎉🇺🇸With only 4 days to go, our committee is making the final preparations for this Saturdays parade and festival. In the meantime,
Say hello to our 4th and final Grand Marshall.
Please meet:
🎖William (Bill) Fisher, Sr.🎖
“William (Bill) Fisher, Sr. has spent nearly his entire life in Hudson, New York. After graduating from Hudson High School in 1955, he served in the National Guard and then enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Cold War.
His military service included assignments in Florida, West Germany, France, and
Arizona, where he worked in civil engineering and helped prepare military airfields and facilities.
While stationed in France in 1958, Bill returned home on leave to marry his high school sweetheart, whom he
describes as "the love of my life." After completing his Air Force service, the couple settled in Hudson and raised four children together.
Back home, Bill built a 38-year career with Hudson City Savings Institution while remaining deeply involved in the community. He coached Little League baseball, taught banking courses, supported numerous local organizations and charities, and continued serving the public after retirement as a substitute teacher, Fair Housing Officer, and member of Hudson American Legion Post 184.
His lifetime of military service, community involvement, and dedication to family has brought him great pride and fulfillment.”
