Big Red Barrel
The Big Red Barrel collects and properly disposes of unused, expired and prescription medications, keeping them out of the hands of kids and our environment.
Did you know he**in addiction often begins with the use of common prescriptions pain killers, known as gateway drugs? The Big Red Barrel project of the Livingston County Community Alliance collects and disposes of unused prescription drugs, keeping them out of the hands of kids.

Big Red Barrel will be at the Fowlerville Farmers Market and Fowlerville Fun Fest on Saturday, June 13th from 9:00am until 1:00pm.
We will be collecting sharps and medication.
This is a free service. No questions asked. Put pills in a zip lock container, they can be mixed together. We prefer not to have the medicine container. Keep liquid medications separate. Dump into a zip lock bag with enough paper towel to soak up the liquid. Needles must be the proper disposal container, either purchased from a pharmacy or use a plastic laundry detergent bottle. Reseal the bottle and tape it. Do your part to keep medications from being abused. Do not flush unused medication.

We’re taking a moment to look back at some great memories — like all the years Big Red Barrel has been at the Unite to Face Addiction Michigan (UFAM) rally!
It was an incredible event filled with energy, connection, and a shared commitment to prevention and supporting our community. We’re grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day and to stand alongside others working to make a difference.
We are excited to be back this year! Come see the Big Red Barrel on the steps of the Capitol on May 14th!
