Shelby, who was arrested for reporting alleged abuse at BARC and was back in court today. This has been going on for almost a year now and I hope the judge sees it as it is and just dismisses the whole thing.

I just want to say that those of you who are being hateful and disrespectful only show your true colors. If you disagree, please explain why without getting personal. That's the only way that we can all figure out how to change BARC.

happened to poor Liberty, it doesn't mention the banning of volunteers
including a vet over this or the several lies that the city told while
people were desperately fighting to help this dog. There is no excuse
for this.

BARC’s refusal of offers of humane care may have cost an injured dog her life « No Kill Houston Kieko aka Liberty, a young dog, was brought to BARC on Monday, 3/15/10. It was obvious that she had suffered severe head/eye injuries. BARC’s vet reportedly told volunteers that it appeared that the dog had been beaten with a 2×4.

Very bad news for those who care about saving lives. A new director for BARC has been named who has no shelter experience. The city still doesn't get it as Elena Marks quote shows- Elena Marks, the mayor’s director of health and environmental policy,
said the city had more than 120 applicants and ultimately opted for
someone with robust experience in the private sector, believing one of
the most critical responsibilities for a new BARC director will be
“managing people, processes and dollars.”

Really, this is one ime I was hoping to be proven wrong but it looks like that'sot to be. I've remained quit because only time would tell what changes Fusco would make at BARC. It's now time to speak up again. NOTHING has changed. It's the same as it's ever been only Mayor White wants be governor instead of senator.

Another Shelby protest- the city obviously isn't done with him yet: Harris County Criminal Courts Building, 1201 Franklin Street, this Friday, 28 August at 8:30am for the harassment and possible incarceration of Mr. Kibodeaux, a BARC volunteer, for reporting a case of animal abuse; the chronic and as yet unresolved mismanagement of BARC, where cruelty to animals and criminal neglect are standard operating procedure.

I want all of you to go out and buy yourself a beer or an ice cream tonight (or whatever your vice is) as a reward for your hard work!! And again THANK YOU! :-)

THANK YOU! You have all made a difference. We've had so many successes recently, I haven't been able to keep up. But the good news is that the cruel & abusive vet & puppy beating kennel attendant have been FIRED. This is just a start but it wouldn't have happened without your help!
