The moment Ryan first told us about her surprise Vegas wedding plans - invite all of her nearest and dearest to Vegas for an engagement party and then reveal to them that they were actually going to get married directly after the party - we were SO on board! The purview to include sequins and feathers didn’t hurt either. The vision was for her engagement party dress to be her something blue and Vegas but not tacky Vegas. She hit the jackpot🩵

We love the trend of brides upcycling their mother’s wedding gown into a special look for their own wedding. Cokie’s vision for her mom Kristen’s wedding gown was fun and flirty. We adored working with them both and just love how the dress turned out!

Working with Jeanie on her Mother of the Bride gown was such a collaborative process. She had a really gorgeous vision, and we played with materials to bring it to life in the most beautiful way, layering silk wool, organza, and hand sewn lace to stunning effect. We also spent nearly a year re-imagining her wedding gown for her daughter Nicole, but thats a story for another post!

We adore Melissa (and her daughter!..and her soon to be daughter in law!) and love working with her. One of the challenges that many petite women run into is finding a print or motif with the right scale. We were drawn to the idea of a large, sweeping floral, but I wanted to make sure that we weren’t overwhelming her with fabric or florals. We ended up making our own appliqué to get everything just right🌷

Grace and Ann! I love working with mothers and daughters. Full stop. I accidentally pricked Grace more times while hand sewing on her than everyone else I’ve poked in the last year combined, but they were the kindest, most wonderful women. We wanted Ann’s mother of the bride gown to feel soft - lovely and soft - and I just love how it turned out!

Maddie! I’ve known Maddie’s very fabulous mom Pam for years and years, so when Pam reached out about a reception dress for her lovely daughter, we knew she would have a vision. Something fun and sparkly in white and silver tones that pops against the starkly beautiful Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum. Gorgeous!!!

Forgive me sweet but I did promise to crop out your head! Brooke was so fun to work with for a million reasons, among them her full embrace of non-white bridal looks! She took one look at this archival beaded lace from and was like “that one” full stop. She looks stunning in this mini and had the most fun (see stories for its crowd surfing moment).

looking stunning in a bias cut, hand draped gown. This dress is such an act of faith. We built it on Chloe over several months with a ton of hand sewing sessions. For the longest time it wasn’t a dress… until it was! And what a stunner!!

We hear so many tropes about mothers of the groom (“wear brown and sit down”), but really, have fun y’all! We absolutely adore LaSondra’s green jacquard gown with a feathered hem. It is almost as fabulous as she is!
