Dangerous heat will be possible across the southern & western US next week. The Climate Prediction Center has under a Moderate risk (level 2/3) of excessive heat. Portions of New Mexico, Arizona, and western Texas are under a High risk (level 3/3) of excessive heat.

Heat followed by heat and finishing up with some more heat. 🌡️🌡️🌡️

The weather pattern isn't changing much in the coming week... so that means the heat and humidity will be sticking around through at least the middle of next week.

In the event heat indexes reach dangerous levels for a period of time, the City of Houston may open cooling centers. These are places where residents can go to be in air conditioning during the hottest part of the day.
