We are working on The Bee Farm today! We are moving compost, sheet mulching, planting many fruit trees, herbs, and lots of legumes. Come help us plant before the rain this weekend or just stop by to say hi.
Yesterday we plant Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Organge, Avocado, Redbud, Cherry of the Rio Grande, coffee, chocolate mint, almond verbena, rosemary, golden lantana, heirloom tomatoes and peppers, squash, melon, cucumber, moringa, and many many many many more legumes!
We're super excited about all of the plants we have gathered to go into the ground tomorrow!! Thanks in big part to all who donated to the GoFundMe we have:
Trees- Cherry of Rio Grande(4), Meyer Lemon, Republic of Texas orange, Banana(6), Olive, Pomegranate(5), Satsuma, Fig(5), Redbud, Locust, Chinese Dragon Orange, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Star Fruit, Peach(2), Texas Mountain Laurel(2), Bay Laurel
Vines and Perennials- Kiwi, Horsetail, Honeysuckle, Mint, Passion vine, Blackberries(5), Rosemary, Elder(20), Coffee(2), Turk's Cap, Daylily, Skullcap, Wild Flowers, Dragon Fruit, Verbenas(3), Violets, Lamb's Quarters
Plus, we can't wait until our seeds come in next week. We've ordered TONS of legumes to help fix nitrogen into the soil as they grow, and tons more herbs.
Thanks to all who are coming out tomorrow to help! There's no way we could do all this without you!
We could not do this without our community! We are looking for a lot of cardboard, burlap, hay/straw, manure, leaves, grass clippings. We have large sheet mulching projects and love free organic materials that are diverted from the landfill. Let me know of any info. Thank you and share!
