The latest work completed. A bush craft Bowie with torch holder sheath.
My second sheath done as well. I think that the American Western look has some strong merits. I think i will be practicing that style more. I can see why my biological father once a long time ago did leather work. It is very peaceful.
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:7 (KJV)

As part of knife work, I decided to also do my own sheaths. Here is my first work doing a double loop western style stitch. Looks pretty good to me.

Good Friday completed two new pieces. The Bowie is rasp with homemade mycarta from my favorite tie dye shirt. Now i can keep it.
The other is also rasp but with Purple Heart and blood wood, brass pins, and hidden tang.
Both were forged out to shape not stock removal.

These tongs are only halfway through. I was able to punch the slots in the boss and finished the reigns. I still have to complete the rivet and finish the bit to fit the work it will be holding. But these are the best i have done so far.

Placed a Purple Heart wood handle on the naginata blade. Hidden tang with pins. Should look nice.

Now i can start getting back my blacksmithing skills i was trained for.

My first try at making Micarta. Not too bad. Used my favorite shirt so it could live on as a knife handle.

Just took them out of the oven. Completed a 3 hour heating cycle after getting hardness treated. So far the scimitar is my favorite but the camp knife is sweet. The naginata however, will be very nice on the end of a 6 foot length of wood pole.
