It’s sunshine and blue skies ahead with our friends at Pegasus. It’s never too late to learn how to paint!

Our teaching artists, Karen Hellstern and Suzanne Alessandri, did a wonderful project with the residents at Pegasus Landing of Tanglewood today. Art is healing and we are grateful for the opportunity to share it with every day through our programs.

We had a magical day with the students if Lamar School District at their Back to School festival. We made wind socks, magic wands, tambourines and painted Seed pots. Everyone went home with an armful of cool giveaways and excitement for the new school year. Thanks Lamar School District for including us!

This week FBPFY welcomed back Karen Hellstern and Suzanne Alessandri from ARTreach Texas () for another incredible Mixed Media Art session — and this one was truly special.

Using watercolors and First Nations and Native Art as their guide, our youth created their own animal inspired pieces while learning the cultural significance behind each animal. Every color, every shape, every stroke carried meaning — and our youth brought it all to life in their own unique way.

The talent and creativity in that room was something else. 💛

Thank you Karen and Suzanne for not just teaching art but using it to connect our youth to something bigger than themselves!

A huge thank you to ARTreach artists Marty Blair, Brent Elizabeth Eastman, and Christian Simon! The youth learned so much about theater. But more importantly they gained self confidence as they tried new things and let their guards down.
