A guest's experience in your city can influence the review they leave you. Be sure to steer your guests in the right direction and keep bumps at bay. Check out these tips:
1. Unique Local Experiences
Take the guest off the beaten path and make them feel like a local with one-of-a-kind activities that reveal secrets to your city and will positively affect your guest’s experience. And if they’re instagrammable, much better!
Examples: hidden cafe, cultural/ heritage site, unknown city view, hole in the wall burrito shop
2. Helpful Local Advice
Tell them insider tips they would never know about unless you’ve given them a heads-up.
Examples: taxi or bicycle recommendations, best and busiest time to go to places, tipping tips
3. Excellent Local Eats
A lot of people travel for food! Don’t overwhelm them with too many dining options, just share the best of the best. Then, provide useful details that save time and money. They’ll certainly appreciate it!
Examples: your favorite cafe, a solid brunch option, a stellar dining, a trusted dessert spot
Go ahead and set aside some time to think about it, perhaps a date with your local Airbnb host friend or bring out the topic at your local Airbnb community group.

Five Short-Term Rental Industry Trend to Watch this 2021

Here are some of the trends to look out for during 2021 and beyond:
1. Acceleration and operational tech
This is what we all want, right? A tech that specifically supports the operations of property management
2. Increased focus on frictionless, seamless stays
Due to the recent pandemic we all experienced, one thing that guests want right now is a contactless, tech-enable stay. We are all eyeing out for this tech that supports this trend. If you keep your eyes open, most of this tech can easily be availed seamlessly too.

3. More “hotel-like” short-term rentals
The concept of turning large property assets [regulations permitting] into ‘hotel-like’ boutique apartment rentals continues to have huge potential – witness the growth during the pandemic but the business model has been updated. Multi-unit owners can access the short-term rental market themselves through specialist technology solutions like Jetstream that work on a variable cost basis ensuring risks are reduced and profits maximized.
4. Converge of short-, mid-, and long-term lets
There is a blurring of the lines between long-, mid- and short-term rentals. It is now more common to see urban-based property managers distributing an owner’s property to platforms that were historically for long-term rentals. The average length of stay is increasing with consumers choosing to embrace the ‘work-from-home’ mandate and translating this into a ‘work-from- another-home’ or even ‘many homes’.
5. Emphasis on quality
Moving away from the issues that can plague the less well executed parts of the industry. This is important because it increases the trust in professionally run rentals which impacts on everything: from conversations with regulators to keeping guests feeling safe.
