Houston Health Foundation
The Houston Health Foundation creates private-public partnerships for sustainable health and wellness
Our programming provides oral health care through Project Saving Smiles, vision screening, and eyewear through See to Succeed, access to fresh produce and nutrition education with our community gardens program as well as STD screenings at our Hip-Hop for HIV concerts. We also play a key role in ensuring families receive the support services they need to create safe and healthy environments for children to live in through our AIM initiative.

Our team was so fortunate to wrap up an incredible learning journey last week with an amazing cohort of non profit leaders, as part of the Bridgespan Leading for Impact initiative, generously supported by the Powell Foundation.
We can't say enough about The Bridgespan Group and the compounding positive impact our organization will experience as a result of taking time and space to "Make the Implicit Explicit" and to "Not Let the Urgent Crowd Out the Important".
Thank you to the Powell Foundation, the superb Bridgespan team and to all the friends we made!

We would like to extend another heartfelt thank you to our most recent Luncheon Keynote Speaker, Dr. Stephen Klineberg.
As the former, founding director of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research and initiator of the Houston Area Survey, his life’s work has illuminated the importance of focusing on Houston’s youth and ensuring that our future generations have the support they need to thrive in the most diverse major city in the country. We’re honored that Dr. Klineberg shared his wisdom with us and inspired everyone in the room to continue supporting the health of children.

We were delighted to welcome the amazing Clark Scholars volunteers who spent their spring break supporting the community in Houston. Twenty-one (21) stellar engineering students from across the country visited the Houston Health Foundation to learn about our programming and gained hands on experience in our Community Family Garden. The scholars built a wonderful new herb rack and cleared garden beds for spring planting. The students also assisted the See to Succeed optical team to prepare eyeglasses to be delivered to local students.
Thank you Clark Scholars for sharing your time with us! You are an awesome group of student leaders!

We’re proud to share that the Houston Health Foundation has been selected as one of The Junior League of Houston, Inc. Community Assistance Grant recipients!
The $10,000 grant will support the expansion of the See to Succeed Program, providing vision screenings and prescription eyewear to students during the school day so they can see clearly and succeed in the classroom.
Thank you to The Junior League of Houston and the selection committee for your consideration and support of our See to Succeed Program!

this week is Children’s Book Week? Established in 1919, it’s the longest-running national literacy initiative in the United States, created to promote reading and the transformative power of children’s literature.
In recognition of this week, we’d like to reshare our gratitude to partners aramco and the Houston Library Foundation for creating the See To Succeed Reading Corner. The Initiative allows students to take home a free book after their eye exams.

Last week, three of our rockstar volunteers were honored at the Mayor’s Volunteer Awards!
We depend on our volunteers to keep our programs thriving. From doing maintenance in the community gardens to helping coordinate children to receive their vision and dental screenings, your effort does not go unnoticed.
Thank you to all of our volunteers who give their time and talent to the Houston Health Foundation, and congratulations to Leilany Garza, Jim Durham, and the JustServe Volunteer Group for your mayoral recognition!

Thank you to all the amazing families, partners, and community members who joined us for Baby Day in Houston! 💛 From playful activities to connecting with valuable local resources, the morning was full of joy, learning, and meaningful connections.
A special thank you to First3Years for allowing the Houston Health Foundation through The Basics Houston to be a partner in this event and statewide celebration.
This event was a reminder of how strong our community is when we come together to support our youngest Texans. Let’s keep the momentum going—keep talking, playing, reading, and singing every day. 🎶📚
The Houston Health Foundation was honored to be invited to talk with anchor, Sofia Ojeda, on KPRC 2 about our Brilliant Futures programming.
CEO and President Robin Mansur discussed how each of the programs, in partnership with the Houston Health Department, addresses a gap in health services for Houston-area children and youth.
