Beta Academy is a tuition-free public charter school. Beta is the initial letter of the Greek word ΒΕΒΑΙΟΣ, which signifies honor.

Honor is a personal quality of the highest value. Honorable persons are held in esteem, considered to be trustworthy, and admired by others because they live a life that is worthy of such recognition. At Beta Academy, we teach the importance of living an honorable life that is bound by integrity and ethical decision-making. Beta Academy instills in each of their scholars respect for others and leadership to the benefit of humankind.

Time to build! 🏡 Our scholars designed and created their own clay homes. It was amazing to see their creativity and attention to detail come to life✨

As part of our Decade of Color celebration, today we honor Kendra Hampton for 10 Years of Leadership.

Before there was a campus, before there were thousands of scholars, before Beta Academy became what it is today, there were a handful of people willing to sacrifice for a dream. Kendra was one of those people.

As a founding member, Kendra helped build Beta from the ground up. She was part of the team that developed our charter application, helped establish the instructional philosophy that still guides us today, and has spent the last decade developing leaders, supporting principals, and strengthening our schools.

What many people don't know is that in the earliest days, Kendra believed in the mission so deeply that she taught kindergarten for an entire year as a volunteer. She gave her time, talent, and energy because she believed our scholars deserved something extraordinary. Long before Beta had resources, Kendra invested herself in the vision.

Over the years, she has served in numerous leadership roles and helped shape the leaders who now serve throughout our organization. Her influence can be seen in classrooms, leadership teams, and campuses across Beta.

Kendra has never been motivated by recognition. She has always been motivated by purpose. Time and again, she has chosen to sacrifice for something bigger than herself.

Beta Academy would not be what it is today without her leadership, courage, and commitment.

Thank you, Kendra, for ten years of believing, building, serving, and leading.
