We extend our heartfelt condolences to our current board and executive committee member, Elizabeth Emory, and her family, on learning of the passing of her mother, Maureen Mulrooney. Maureen served on the SSCA board as both board president (1989/1990) and a director for several terms. She was a vital leader and contributor to our neighborhood and the surrounding community. A pocket park on Hammerly, across the street from Spring Woods Middle School, was named in her honor.

This morning, the Texas Water Development Board voted to authorize a $5 million agreement with the City of Houston for the Spring Shadows Drainage and Paving Project.
I was glad to secure this funding in our state budget to support our community's flood mitigation efforts! This project will reduce localized flooding, improve stormwater flow, and provide relief to approximately 7,300 residents.
