Completed and handed over last week.
It was a fun & challenging piece to make to define 'Balance'.

Timelapse coming soon.

The sooner the better as these do take time to paint.

I have an exciting commission coming up very soon!

I'm taking orders for custom painted ornaments & have adjusted the pricing accordingly considering one style takes longer than the other.
I have separated them into two different price lists.

There are moments where I just sit & stare off into the clouds...

The aftermath of making my costume.

This was quite the experience. Started out exciting & eager. Went in with good & bad ideas. Well, one bad idea. An assumption really. And it was a rookie assumption. My mind was more wrapped around the idea of having a brand new cosplay that would match my kid's. I was caught up with her joy of me replicating hers for myself. I made the assumption that because I did this once in one month that it should take me less time the second time around. That would've been a true assumption if I had been making a suit of armor...for her. I didn't take into consideration the size difference of the suits which obviously affects the timeframe of the build. I didn't take that into consideration AT ALL. 😅
I have never crammed so much work into a short span of time before until building this costume.
It started out calmly & with ease, but the time constraints became more often, sleep became less, & I was starting to fall asleep while cutting, sanding, & gluing the pieces. Not all at once. Different nights. Eventually, it was the last 3 days of working on it where I started to panic because although the final steps were the easiest, there was a lot of it to do. I got to a point where I almost just stopped.
So what kept me going when I wanted to stop?
I brought it up to Catalina. I told her that I didn't think I would finish my costume, but not to worry because she'll still be able to wear hers anyway. She did not take it well. That's all it took. So I sucked it up & hustled as quickly as I could to the finish line.
I completed my suit just an hour before leaving for Comicpalooza.

There's no stronger motivation to success than that of seeing the split-second transformation of happiness to disappointment on your kid's face.
