Hi my name is Conlee and I’m the owner of Beads For Special Needs. We have gotten a lot of new followers lately so I thought it was only fitting to share my story with you all. When I was in middle school my cousin (pictured below) was diagnosed with Autism. She is nonverbal, but she is still my best friend and has taught me love needs no words. After her diagnosis I tried to find ways in which I could get involved in the disability community. A year or so later I started volunteering at Easter Seals’ summer camps. Easter Seals serves children and adults with disabilities and their families, offering a wide range of services. I fell in love with all the kids and the whole experience. I really got to see the impact Easter Seals made in the lives of these families and I wanted to give back to them thus I created Beads For Special Needs. 80% of the profits from my jewelry are donated to Easter Seals of Greater Houston, usually for their Holiday Drive and Walk With Me event.
