We are thankful for our collaboration with Children’s Museum Houston, who has been providing Early Childhood Outreach Programming for our Family Coaching families with children ages 0–5. To show their appreciation, they graciously shuttled our families to the museum for a special visit and tour of their new wing. It was a meaningful experience filled with learning, exploration, and joy!

A heartfelt thank you to True Light Baptist Church and Angel Nest Nutrition Center for supporting food security for our families by contributing to our Family Hope Center Food Pantry. Together, we are making a meaningful difference.

Our Regional Director Whitney Steen and Teen Program Coordinator Earlisha Sowells represented Buckner at the Dominion Park Church of Christ College & Career Fair. They had the opportunity to present on behalf of Buckner and share valuable resources with the youth and their families as they plan for their futures. Thank you for allowing us to be part of this impactful event!

Buckner Family Hope Center at Northside staff gathered together for a balloon release in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month this April. Together, we advocate for awareness, prevention, and brighter futures for children.

Today is Blue Sunday, a day to pray for victims of child abuse. We encourage you to share and use the following graphics for prayer.

We are incredibly grateful for our Summerhouse volunteers, who faithfully serve in our Food Pantry and Buckner Market. Their hard work alongside our amazing Resource Team helps ensure everything is prepared, stocked, and fully operational so families can receive support with dignity and care.

Our staff and clients recently participated in Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training through Harris County. This is an impactful program through FEMA that equips everyday citizens with lifesaving skills in times of disaster.

Through this training, participants learned how to respond effectively when emergencies occur, provide immediate assistance, and support their communities when professional responders are delayed.

CERT is all about readiness, safety, and people helping people—and we’re proud to continue empowering our families with the knowledge and confidence to make a difference when it matters most.
