π¨ BREAKING: 16-YEAR-OLD DEAD IN APPARENT ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING IN THE WOODLANDS π¨
A 16-year-old boy is dead following what investigators believe was an accidental shooting inside a home in The Woodlands early Thursday morning.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a residence on Redberry Court shortly after 4:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. When first responders arrived, they found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators say a 17-year-old sibling and a 19-year-old friend were also inside the home at the time of the incident. Preliminary information indicates the shooting appears to have been accidental, and authorities say there is no threat to the public.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The case will be reviewed by the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office to determine whether any charges are warranted.
The identity of the teen has not yet been released.

π¨π BREAKING: NBA HANDS OUT LIFETIME BANS AFTER FINALS COURT-STORMING INCIDENT ππ¨
The NBA isn't playing around.
League officials announced that the fan who ran onto the court during Game 1 of the NBA Finals and approached San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama has been arrested and permanently banned from all NBA arenas.
As if that wasn't enough, the NBA says a second individual involved in the incident has also been hit with a lifetime ban.
The disruption occurred during the fourth quarter of Game 1 between the Spurs and Knicks when a fan made his way onto the court and attempted to get close to Wembanyama before security quickly intervened.
Translation: The only thing that fan will be getting courtside from now on is a view from his couch.
The NBA's message is clear β buying a ticket gets you into the arena, not onto the hardwood.
π The Knicks defeated the Spurs 105-95 in Game 1 to take a 1-0 series lead.

Thank you for these words..... you know who you are. πͺπ―
I told a friend that I didn't have the strength to post about the Cyrus Belton verdict or the Karmelo Anthony trial, especially after the Brazoria County incident regarding John Gabriel Mendoza Jr. This is what he texted me:
When you help run a page like HTX Media, you're not just posting news. You're absorbing it, reading hundreds of comments, dealing with arguments, accusations, politics, emotions, and people who expect you to have an answer for everything. After a while, it gets heavy.
You don't have to post every story.
You don't have to be the first to report it.
And you definitely don't have to spend your evening arguing with strangers on the internet about a murder verdict or a high-profile trial.
Some stories bring out the absolute worst comment sections. People arrive with their minds already made up, and no amount of facts, context, or moderation changes that. Sometimes posting the story means volunteering yourself to referee a fight that was going to happen regardless.
If you're exhausted, it's okay to skip it. The story will still be there tomorrow. Your audience will survive one news cycle without your take.
You've spent a lot of time building HTX Media into something people trust. That doesn't disappear because you decide, "Not today."
Maybe tonight is a good night to post something completely differentβa positive Houston story, a community spotlight, a missing person who needs attention, a first responder success story, or even one of those motivational posts you do reminding people to stay safe and make the day count.
Protecting your own mental bandwidth isn't weakness. It's recognizing that you can't pour from an empty cup.
Take the night if you need it. The comments section will still be arguing tomorrow whether you're there or not. β€οΈ

π¨ TEXAS PRISON EVACUATED OVER POSSIBLE CARBON MONOXIDE LEAK
A North Texas prison was evacuated Wednesday morning after dangerous levels of carbon monoxide were reportedly detected inside the facility.
According to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, the incident happened at the Bridgeport Correctional Center in Wise County. Emergency crews were called after reports of elevated carbon monoxide levels and a possible gas leak.
As a precaution, all inmates and staff were evacuated from the building while firefighters and law enforcement investigated the source of the problem.
Authorities say inmates are being transported to other nearby facilities until repairs can be completed.
Officials reported no injuries related to the incident. Investigators traced the issue to the facility's boiler room, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
Carbon monoxide is often referred to as the "silent killer" because it is colorless and odorless, making early detection and evacuation critical in situations like this.
β
The good news: No injuries have been reported, and the evacuation was carried out safely while crews work to determine exactly what caused the leak.
