Well, it’s a wrap! 💙
15 years ago, I sat down with Loren Adeyinka and over dinner to share an idea. My vision was to create an organization where my peers could come together to support those in need. That’s how Modify was born! Through this journey, I’ve grown, built meaningful connections with incredible people, and honed my organizational skills. Modify has been a true blessing in my life, and I hope it has been a blessing in yours too! Oh God I thank you for the vision and the AUDACITY to live out my dream!

The final countdown post will honor our partner organization, 1000 Hills Ministry! We deeply value the experiences we’ve shared through this incredible nonprofit. Serving the unhoused community, they hold church services every single day of the week! Thanks to their efforts, we’ve been able to minister, serve meals, pray, and distribute essential items!
We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to a few incredible individuals who stepped up to share the Word of God during our time volunteering: Antoinette Staples William Cumby and Jeremy Wright. Thank you so much! Your messages not only blessed those we were serving but also deeply inspired the volunteers. You truly brought us all together. Love you all! 💜

Along the way, we decided to give college scholarships to deserving high school students! Some completed the program, while others competed against other applicants! What an amazing experience to be able to support these students!

The Final Countdown: 3 Days Away! 💙
Over the course of our 15 years of service, we’ve been fortunate to partner with the Star of Hope to support women going through challenging times. The holiday party shown in the picture was created to bring joy to their lives. We reserved a space at Axel Rad, decorated the patio, served food, gave away gifts, and had an unforgettable time!

The Final Countdown: 4 Days Away!
Modify had an incredible experience serving the Houston community! We organized fundraisers to support scholarships and community assistance initiatives. One of these efforts was dedicated to raising funds for 1000 Hills Ministries, an organization that provides food and shelter for 10-20 men in need. During a visit to their homes, we saw firsthand the great challenges they face. What started as a beautification project evolved into a heartfelt donation to help keep their lights on and ensure there was food on the table.

It Has Been An Honor!
I have to take the opportunity to publicly thank the last three surviving Modify Board of Directors! This group, answered the call of service for many years! They never said no when I came up with a crazy idea…NEVER! 🤣 I can’t say thank you enough!
Thank you for being an active member from 2019 to now. An entire 15 years of service! Even after moving to Dallas, your commitment never stopped. THANK YOU!
You have been the lifeline of Modify since our 1st meeting at Cafe Express 10+ years ago! You answered the call and NEVER wavered. From flyer creation to catering, you were/are a jewel! THANK YOU!
My sister friend, you answered the call when things were looking dim but you stayed committed. The time, effort, and expertise you so generously shared were truly inspiring. THANK YOU!

It’s The LAST Modify Monday! 🥹
I reserved the last Modify Monday to give thanks to all of the leaders who have helped Modify throughout its existence! The Board of Directors have been an integral part of the organization and we couldn’t have done ANYTHING without their support! We honor you today for your leadership, service and commitment to serving the Houston community via Modify! A special shoutout to the co-founder ! If it wasn’t for your encouragement and partnership, Modify would not have happened! 💙

The Final Countdown
We are 7 days away from our final volunteer event! Throughout the years, has been working to uplift those in need. One of our many special memories was our Linen-N-Things event. We met at a black owned business in the 3rd Ward area to collect linen (sheets, towels, etc) for women at the Star of Hope!

Happy Thanksgiving!
As we reflect on the amazing years we have had as an organization, all we can do is smile! We are so grateful for the support we have had since 2019 at our 1st service event at the Houston Food Bank!
Although this is the sunset of Modify, you will definitely continue to see our faces in the community!
