David Spann is an iconic Texas-based guitarist who has been a part of the Texas music scene for decades. David's latest release "Don't Let It Slip Away" will be available for download Tuesday September 16, 2025, on his official website www.davidspann.com and various social media platforms.

Musical Beginnings:
David Spann started his musical career as a drummer in his cousin's high school band before transitioning to guitar. His early influences included Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, Jimmy Page, and Freddy King.

Early Career:
At the age of 19, he was part of the solo group of Steve Walsh, the lead singer of Kansas. In 1985, he formed the power trio "Spann" with Kyle Brock (bassist for the Eric Johnson Group) and drummer Eddie Cantu. The band performed in various Texas cities, and shared the stage with artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Johnson, and Robin Trower.

Professional Career:
From 2000 to 2009, Spann worked as a full-time professional guitar product specialist for the amplifier companies Marshall and Vox, traveling both domestically and internationally. David's illustrious history has made him one of the most sought-after guitar instructors in Austin.
