Album Art Explanation:
The background of the album art is a block graph showing the duration of time each song takes. Whereas the full album is 30 min long, the first track only takes up 2:18 of that. So I mapped out a block graph of each song and then found a color palette I liked that fit each song’s vibe. After all of that, my mother made it into a quilt. Here’s a pic of me holding it up on Christmas Day. 🎄🎅🏻🎄
We didnt end up choosing a direct shot of the quilt for the final album art, but the quilt itself really is the true art of Every Day A Little Closer.
And now I can either use it to keep me warm or hang it on my wall as a physical reminder of the record ❤️ thanks mom.

Today we release our full-length album “Every Day a Little Closer”.
Don’t be mistaken. Although it may seem this means “every day a little closer to finishing this damn record”, we chose this as our title to highlight the closeness we’ve experienced getting to know one another as a band. Over the past decade, we would approach each decision with the question “what do WE want to do?” Sometimes that meant spending our rehearsals catching up on the porch instead of practicing. Other times it would mean opting to play a house show at a friend’s place over a more lucrative option at a venue based solely on “the house show sounds more fun”.
Our beautiful boy, Juan Lopez recorded everything. Andres Villegas, Will Boesl, and Austen Miller are all over the writing and recording of this album and it would not sound as it does without them. Photography was done by Marshall Tidrick and Brad Nickerson was our graphic designer.
Please listen to this album thinking about what you’ve experienced over the past ten years. This music is our backdrop for the past decade and releasing it feels like introducing your oldest friend to a new friend group. Every Day a Little Closer was the soundtrack to our world. And now it is waiting for you. 🥰

This Friday July 8, 2022 we finally release our LP, “Every Day a Little Closer”. It’s been TEN YEARS since our last release!!!
How much do people change over 10 years? Every Day a Little Closer is an album about moving through time with friends. It’s an experiment of what happens when friendship is considered higher than the music itself and how a band becomes closer as a family. You will hear the songs, but it truly is a soundtrack to our personal, lived lives.
This music has been the backdrop to our world for a decade and we are finally ready to release it on Friday. It’s our dream of what life could look like. And it is waiting for you.

New song released today! If you know me then you know that this song has been around for multiple arrangements going back to about 2007. Alexander and Kelsey called it the spooky song when we played it together. even recorded a version of it over ten years ago a month or so after recording the Montclair sessions for . This song is, in itself, a road warrior and will always travel from arrangement to arrangement. My hope is that it sits content in this recording. Maybe it’ll be able to call this arrangement home if only for a little while. 🖤

10 YEARS AGO WE RELEASED “MY LEGS ARE IN THE WATER, MY HEAD IS IN THE CLOUDS”
1. A decade of living in a mystery
2. A decade of magic things
3. A decade of dying
4. A decade of surrendering to doubt
5. A decade celebrating life
6. A decade of dreams lost and found
7. A decade to die to
8. A decade dedicated to the wind
9. A decade of time travel, occasionally living in the moment, but mostly spent dreaming of the future
10. A decade full of my friends
If these songs meant anything to you, know that they were written as a celebration of who you are as your incarnation on this blue dot. What is within you is within me. The Roman playwright Terence said “Nothing human is alien to me” and maybe that’s why these two little EP’s found a home in people’s heads. These songs are a symbol representing the full spectrum of who I was ten years ago— warts and all. All too human. All too flawed and all the while still Andy unfolding.
I’m sitting on my couch this afternoon reflecting on summers spent with Alexander, James, Austen, Casey, Dane, Kelsey, and Anthony. Only to be followed by dear Kyle and Katy.
May we all take in another summer and find gratitude in those moments shared long ago that lasted all eternity ❤️
~^*a new adventure coming next month*^~

Happy y’all! "Old Man in the River" was written on tour in 2011 over the span of a couple days. A friend of ours had built a DIY recording setup up in New Jersey and wanted to track with us. We wrote this little tune for the sole purpose of checking out his gear. It’s one of those song ideas that, if tampered with more, could have gone in so many different directions. But it’s that “write it, record it, don’t overthink and walk away” mentality that makes it special for us. An effortless demo thats chalk full of memories distant and still within us all at the same time.
