💡Press release to podium. Media strategy to the moment lights came on.

50 solar lights just illuminated a historic trail with 250+ more on the way. Thrilled to orchestrate last week’s press conference for Phase 1 of the Columbia Tap Trail initiative—a $7.5M community investment years in the making. With Mayor Whitmire, Council Members, and incredible district partners, we celebrated infrastructure that connects people to opportunity.

Excited to share the latest at Uptown Park, with a new wave of retail and dining concepts continuing to elevate the project’s mix and experience.

From first-to-Texas brands like Joe & The Juice (just announced) to the recent openings of Design Within Reach and LAZZONI, it’s a strong reflection of how thoughtfully the destination continues to evolve.

We’ve had the opportunity to support Uptown Park for nearly a decade, spanning public relations, brand, and placemaking strategy. It’s been incredible to watch its transformation into one of Houston’s most refined, design-forward retail environments. The consistency in vision and curation by EDENS shows in moments like this.

Proud to be a small part of the story and to continue to work with the team to bring new options to Uptown Houston.

🏛️Downtown Houston Historic Preservation🏛️ After nearly 8 years working on this project with our team, starting with the Raphael and Dorrance buildings, 917 Franklin is complete.

It’s a 1904 building in downtown Houston, originally the Commercial National Bank and one of the earliest skyscrapers in the city’s first financial district. It also once housed the offices of William Marsh Rice and the original offices of the Rice Institute.

Projects like this don’t usually happen in Houston.

Most of the time, buildings like this get torn down. It’s faster. It’s easier. It pencils better.

Dan Zimmerman has continued to invest in preservation, from the buildings along Main Street to La Colombe d’Or, where a historic mansion was restored and expanded into a luxury boutique hotel while maintaining its original character.

917 Franklin now joins those earlier buildings as part of Main&Co, forming a collection of preserved structures in a part of downtown that has long been established.

In a city that tends to replace, choosing to restore is still the harder path. And it’s usually the more meaningful one.

t’s very exciting to see officially break ground in East Downtown (EaDo) Houston.

I’ve been working on this project with the team for over three years, across all touch points, so it’s especially rewarding to see it reach this point.

A lot has evolved and it’s great to see real momentum, specifically with the announcement of Handies Douzo coming in as the first tenant.

It’s always interesting when things shift from concept to something physical, especially in a neighborhood like EaDo that already has so much energy and is only gaining more as it prepares to host the official FIFA Fan Fest in June.

Also always great when two clients—East Downtown Management District and East Blocks—converge on a project like this.

🎨🏙️ A vibrant, custom mural by brings a burst of color to the leasing and marketing hub we designed for East Blocks. The piece fuses the raw grit and graffiti spirit of the neighborhood with the refined furnishings that hint at the transformation ahead—when the historic warehouses evolve into a reimagined, elevated destination.
🧱 Custom rolling, branded art walls showcase floating renderings and a monumental 10’x10’ scale model of the redevelopment and surrounding community—anchoring a space designed for events, leasing meetings, and big-picture visioning.

🏙️ I began my marketing career working in Uptown Houston at The Galleria for Simon Property Group over 15 years ago. With many of our projects and clients (since then) calling Uptown home including Uptown Park by EDENS, Post Oak Plaza by Levcor, Inc., Wulfe, and more, we were happy to bring it all full circle and begin working with the Uptown District team last year.

Our team, with much success, has been working on enhancing the social media presence and building strong content that tells the story of the Uptown Houston neighborhood and its businesses. We’ve also recently completed a full photoshoot to highlight the many landmarks in the neighborhood that have defined the Houston landscape.

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of Rebel Retail Advisors—a boutique leasing and consulting firm built to challenge the status quo in retail real estate. To make things more special, it’s for my dear friend, colleague and longtime collaborator Lacee Jacobs!

When we first launched COMO Creatives nearly 10 years ago, Lacee reached out immediately and set a coffee meeting. We chatted about the lack of energy and creativity around the mixed-use developments coming online in Houston at that time and our excitement for what our team was going to do to help build compelling destinations that spoke to their communities.

Fast forward 10 years and many, many project collaborations later, it’s with glee that we share the news of Lacee’s own boutique brokerage firm.

Cheers to the next 10 years and the continued elevation of Houston’s (and beyond) retail real estate!
