Alley Theatre, Houston, Tx

(My review) Born Yesterday

The newly redesigned Hubbard Theatre allows set designers a more personal 3 dimensional set and it is wonderful.

The period costumes, late 40’s-50’s for the men are right on.
For the ladies we know that s*x sells and there is ample cleavage displayed but out of place for the Senator’s wife and why red hair for Billie Dawn? An instant switch from Blond?

The acting is superb onstage as well as through set changes. Where I find fault is with the Director. The major players are one dimensional, no growth of the characters. They are the same at the end as in the beginning. Time passage should be weeks or months from Act 1 into Act 2. Instead it seems only hours.

I challenge you, “visit Born Yesterday at the Alley,” it runs through July 3rd.
THE RUN TIME IS APPROXIMATELY 1 HOUR AND 51 MINUTES, INCLUDING ONE INTERMISSION.

Christmas is always a time of giving and sharing. Another Angel got her wings yesterday.

To all those who have gone on before us. They will always be near us, in our hearts. We all need prayers right now. May I ask my "Facebook Family" wherever you may be, if you feel so inclined, to kindly copy, paste and share this status to give a prayer of support to all those who have family problems, struggles and worries and just need to know that someone cares. Do it for all of us for no-one is immune. Share some faith and love for those in need. Life works in strange ways. ;)
