I’m sitting at the restaurant table, waiting for the networking meeting to begin when I overhear one person say to another…

“Wow man, you’re looking sharp today!”

The guy being complimented was presenting in front of the group and had dressed for the occasion.

It made me think of the subtle and not so subtle ways we communicate with our appearance.

Most of us wouldn’t dare show up for a networking event in our bathrobe.

We know better than to post drunken photos on social media.

We bathe and comb our hair before a meeting.

Why?

Because we don’t want to send the wrong message.

And yet everyday I see photos that are
