Update on the Ollas: The following pictures are from two separate garden beds, planted at the same time, one with Ollas and one without. I surface water the Olla bed once a week, and I try to water the other bed daily. I think I might buy 3 more Ollas before summer arrives. Enchanted Gardens sells the Ollas at the same price as you can get online, and they seem to keep them in stock now. (Ignore the weeds, please)

They sell out quickly at local garden centers. I will be experimenting with them this year. Great concept.

These rough sketches sum up the video I posted describing how to prune crepe myrtles. Assume all branches in black are at least the width of your pinky at the crotch (the junction where they connect to the tree).

Many have fallen victim to an epidemic that has swept the south for decades. Everyday I see evidence of the tragedy on street corners and in so many yards around our community. CREPE MUDER. That is right, the senseless whacking of crepe myrtles down to nubs. Please, take the time to lovingly prune your crepe myrtles into the beautiful trees they are meant to be. Together, we can stop this epidemic.

Valentine's Day is upon us! If you are looking for a different way to give roses this year, consider visiting a local garden center. A planted rose is the gift that keeps on giving. At this moment, my favorite is the Don Juan climbing rose. It is a vigorous climber, so give it room to flourish!

My daughter loves playing outside! Our fairy garden is her favorite place to play. Because I want to provide high quality products to Trillium's clients, she agreed to help me in a field trial. She is testing three brands of fairies for durability and 'bestness'. The picture is of our various trial fairies.

The cows came to say hello while we loaded supplies this morning.
